Cambridge International GCE AS & A – Levels @ DPSIS (Grade 11 & 12 )

Cambridge, being an international curriculum and followed in more than 145 countries worldwide, sets a global standard for education, with programmes that stretch, challenge, and inspire our students. The Cambridge A Level program covers a wide range of subjects, including sciences, humanities, and arts. The flexibility and academic rigor of the program makes it a popular choice for students seeking a challenging and well-rounded education.

The Cambridge A Level program offered by the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), is an advanced level qualification typically taken by students after completing their International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) or its equivalent. A Levels are internationally recognized and widely accepted by universities and employers around the world.

The program offers in-depth subject knowledge and encourages critical thinking, analytical skills, and independent learning. Students usually choose a combination of subjects based on their interests and future career aspirations. A Levels are typically a two-year program, AS and A Level. Students take examinations at the end of AS level and end of A level. Both Examinations are conducted and evaluated by Cambridge.

We prioritize acquainting our young learners with the 7C’s Spheres of excellence, essential 21st-century skills seamlessly integrated into the curriculum. Our lesson plans are crafted to be entertaining, interactive, and immersive, catering to inquisitive minds and fostering the exploration of novel ideas.

ASSESSMENT STRUCTURE

Grade 11 AS & Grade 12 AL

DPSIS’s internal assessments serve as valuable preparation for students, aiding them in readiness for the final examinations and identifying both their strengths and areas for improvement. This enables students to adjust their study strategies accordingly. In Grade 11 AS and Grade 12 AL, preliminary examinations are administered August/September, providing students with an understanding of what to anticipate when they undertake the actual examinations in October/November.

In order to arrive at the forecast grade, the internal assessment weightage is assigned as follows:

  1. Every subject will have two class tests.
  2. Preliminary examination will be held in August/ September.
  3. CAIE (Board) Examination will be held in October/ November as per CAIE timetable which will be announced at a later date.

Weightage:

  1. Class test:  50 marks
  2. Preliminary Examination: Marks and weightage will be as per CAIE subject guidelines.
  3. Final (Board) Examination: Marks and weightage will be as per CAIE subject guidelines.
