KINDERGARTEN @ DPSIS
(Nursery, K1, K2)
The integrity of any structure depends primarily on the strength of its foundation. The Kindergarten program at DPSIS, designed holistically for children between the ages of 2 years to 6 years, comprises Pre-nursery, Nursery and Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2
We are dedicated to creating a stress-free atmosphere that is conducive to physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional development. Students are encouraged to learn through their own experience, and at their own pace. The Kindergarten environment at DPSIS is joyful, purposeful, and engaging.
In the nursery year, we work towards developing spatial awareness, gross and fine motor skills, and personal and social skills while introducing young learners to phonics and math concepts through games. In our Kindergarten curriculum, we expand on the nursery foundations as students learn to write, read, and develop basic mathematical skills, language, and cognitive skills through hands-on activities.

EXPERIENCED FACULTY
Our teachers keep themselves well-informed of new teaching techniques, constantly updating their knowledge and skills. In addition to in-house soft skills and ICT training programs, we regularly sponsor, subject-specific professional development for our teachers, ensuring that they update their skills and continue to learn and grow professionally.
ASSESSMENT STRUCTURE
At the Kindergarten learning is reviewed through informal and formal assessment methods. The informal method is through observing and documenting a child’s work and performance over the course of a year by the teacher. The formal method is through standardised testing with basic questionnaires.
This assessment record with the student learning analysis is shared with parents so they can follow their child’s progress at school, understand their child’s strengths and challenges, and plan how they can help extend the learning into their homes.
PROMOTION POLICY
All Students are promoted based on the continual assessment done during one academic year.
BEYOND CLASSROOM LEARNING
At DPSIS, we believe that learning is not Uni-dimensional, restricted solely to classroom learning and textbooks. Rather, we view learning as a multi-dimensional process, comprising important life lessons gleaned from excursions, enrichment programs, workshops and cultural activities. These activities are therefore built into the curriculum to ensure 360° learning and all-round development of our students
INCLUSIVE LEARNING
At DPSIS, we believe in inclusive education that recognizes and values all students, ensuring that every student feels supported, no matter what their learning challenge or preferred learning style
