CAMBRIDGE PATHWAY @ DPSIS
DPS International School is affiliated to Cambridge International Education (CIE) since April 2009 which is the world’s largest provider of international qualifications for 5–19 years old. Cambridge, being an international curriculum and followed in 160 countries worldwide, sets a global standard for education, with programmes that stretch, challenge, and inspire our students.
Cambridge Lower Secondary is typically for learners aged 11 to 14 years. It helps prepare students for the next step of their education, providing a clear path as they progress through the Cambridge Pathway. The curriculum designed on the concept that teachers act as facilitators, with students assuming roles beyond mere learners—they become active participants, observers, and researchers who independently manage their learning. Initially, the teacher guides the learning process, gradually transitioning responsibility to the learner. Students not only acquire knowledge independently but also through collaborative discussion, dialogue, and the exchange of information and ideas with their peers.
The Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is a globally recognized qualification offered by the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). The IGCSE program is designed for students aged 14 to 16 (Grade 9 & 10) and is typically taken after completing the Cambridge Lower Secondary program or its equivalent. It is considered a reliable indicator of academic ability and achievement. The program covers a broad range of subjects, including languages, sciences, humanities, and arts. The program emphasizes the development of key skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication, in addition to subject-specific knowledge. Overall, the Cambridge IGCSE program is designed to provide a solid foundation for further education and equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for success in higher-level academic pursuits
The Cambridge A Level program, offered by the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), is an advanced level qualification typically taken by students after completing their International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) or its equivalent. A Levels are internationally recognized and widely accepted by universities and employers around the world.
The program offers in-depth subject knowledge and encourages critical thinking, analytical skills, and independent learning. Students usually choose a combination of subjects based on their interests and future career aspirations. A Levels are typically a two-year program, AS and A Level. Students take examinations at the end of AS level and end of A level. Both Examinations are conducted and evaluated by the Cambridge.
